It is the seat of the Countess of Sutherland and the Clan Sutherland.           The bookmark has a picture of the castle along with the Clan Sutherland Crest. The crest or badge of the chief is a wildcat sejant erect guardant proper, and the clan motto, “Sans Peur”, which is French for “Without Fear”.   It measures 1 ½ ins (4 cms) wide and 9 ins (23 cms) long.   It is in excellent condition.
