Marshall Field 1921 Christmas Catalog, Pocket Size
This is a rather unusual little book. Produced by the famous firm of Marshall Field And Co, it is entitled ‘The Gift Book, Christmas 1921’ and details potential gifts for various categories of people. For example, the largest list is for women, and ‘something for the home’. Other categories include ‘something to wear’, ‘something for recreation’, ‘something unusual’, ‘something inexpensive’, ‘something costly or rare’. These categories are repeated for different ages and sexes; ‘for a girl’, ‘for an elderly woman’. The book measures 4¼ inches by just over 2 ½ inches, and is in good condition. A fascination insight into the times, and how things have changed.
